Justin Ovenell

Justin Ovenell, Equity Research Associate at Goodreid Investment Counsel, conducts fundamental equity research in support of the firm's Portfolio Managers, with a focus on company-level analysis and valuation. He joined Goodreid full-time in 2026 after completing a four-month internship with the firm.

Prior to Goodreid, Justin was a Pension Analyst at CAAT Pension Plan, one of Canada's largest defined benefit pension plans, where over two summers he contributed analytical and actuarial support and validated pension calculations using internal platforms. While at Queen's University, he co-founded and served as Chief Investment Officer of the Queen's Investment Society, leading a team of student analysts focused on due diligence, risk management, and portfolio construction.

Justin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Queen's University and is a CFA Level I candidate.
